About The Position

Our research mission is to transform the discipline of nursing through research, practice and partnerships and to contribute to the social advancement of the health of Tennessee, the nation, and the world. Vanderbilt School of Nursing (VUSN) supports the development of innovative research programs within VUSN that align strategically with other Vanderbilt University initiatives and that address national priorities to promote and protect health. The Center for Research Development and Scholarship supports many activities related to pre-award and post-award, federal, and non-federal grant submission and other scholarship activities.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education is required.
  • At least 1-2 years of full-time experience is necessary.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, timelines and faculty support requests simultaneously.

  • A Master's degree from an accredited institution of higher education is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with completing projects from inception to implementation is preferred.
  • Microsoft Office 365 and REDCap experience is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently while fostering a cooperative work environment is preferred.
  • Strongly written, interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary contact for faculty participating in CRDS-REACH initiatives and related programs, while managing the day-to-day logistical details for programs.
  • Coordinate program timelines, application cycles, review processes and award communications.
  • Facilitate intake, coordination and assignment of faculty requests for research and scholarship support services, including grant review, manuscript development, IRB support, REDCap consultation, statistical support and project planning resources.
  • Assist in the development of program evaluation, create metrics to measure return on investment of faculty requests and initiate process improvements.
  • Coordinate with internal departments and external partners to facilitate program activities.
  • Draft and format communication materials such as event invitations, agendas, documents, etc.
  • Assist with grant updates, submissions, and progress reports.
  • Facilitate group meetings as needed, providing education and support.
  • Coordinate quarterly meetings of the Internal and External Advisory Committees.
  • Monitor and track faculty support requests, service utilization, and program outcomes to support reporting and operational planning.
  • Prepare financial reports, data summaries, and program updates for leadership and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the post-award team and Assistant Dean to interpret and implement budget and invoice submission requirements.
  • Prepare and submit documentation for post-award grant requests, including no-cost extensions and prior approval submissions, while securing necessary authorizations.
  • Monitor program budget using budget vs. actuals reports, ensuring expenditures align with approved budgets and that funds are fully utilized by the grant year-end.
  • Maintain a OneCard and oversee procurement activities for program events, such as the annual conference, securing supplies, catering, and other logistical needs, participant incentives, while adhering to budget and compliance guidelines.
  • Assist with development and distribution of program communications, resource materials, website content and dashboards.
  • Prepare materials, presentations, and updates related to CRDS-REACH activities, services and outcomes.
  • Deliver presentations to groups and organizations related to program projects.
  • Contribute to the continued growth and improvement of support programs within CRDS-REACH.
