About The Position

The College of Engineering is seeking a Research Program Coordinator (Project Manager) for the Northwest Alliance for Computational Science & Engineering (NACSE). This full-time, 12-month professional faculty position provides high-level project management and administration for typically two to four externally funded research projects, particularly large or complex grants involving multiple principal investigators (PIs). The coordinator helps reduce researchers’ administrative workload and expand their capacity to manage grant funding successfully. The role also participates in research activities, especially spatial data analysis and cartographic map production. The coordinator assists PIs and research teams with strategic planning, resource management, and the effective operation of project activities. The role develops and maintains knowledge of university and funding-agency requirements and award-management processes, and establishes project procedures and administration in collaboration with PIs. The coordinator directs required report production, serves as a liaison between PIs and internal and external support services, and works with Financial Strategic Services staff to manage complex budgets and meet funding-agency requirements throughout the grant lifecycle. The position works independently and within a team-supported environment, handling multiple tasks and deadlines with limited support, and reports to the NACSE Director. The position is based on-site in the NACSE suite at University Plaza, with a 40-hour workweek and some schedule flexibility. The salary range is $79,000–$88,000, commensurate with skills, education, and experience. The anticipated start date is January 1, 2027.
