About The Position

The College of Engineering is seeking a Research Program Coordinator for the Northwest Alliance for Computational Science & Engineering (NACSE). This is a full-time, 1.00 FTE, 12-month professional faculty position. The position provides high-level project management and administration for typically two to four externally funded research projects, especially large or complex grants involving multiple principal investigators. The coordinator helps reduce researchers’ administrative burden and expand their capacity to manage grant funding successfully. The coordinator assists principal investigators and research teams with strategic planning, resource management, and the effective operation of project activities. The role develops and maintains in-depth knowledge of university and funding agency requirements and award-management processes, and establishes project procedures and administration in collaboration with principal investigators. It directs required report production, serves as a liaison between principal investigators and internal and external support services, and works with Financial Strategic Services staff to manage complex budgets and ensure compliance with funding-agency requirements throughout the grant lifecycle. The position also participates in research activities, particularly spatial data analysis and cartographic map production. Work is performed independently and with a team, while managing multiple tasks and deadlines with limited support. The position reports to the NACSE Director.
