About The Position

This role involves closely working with the Program Manager to coordinate the daily administrative activities of the program and provide support to the team to facilitate the achievement of the program's goals. The position supports Cancer Center Research Program leaders in coordinating research program activities, including program meetings, seminars, retreats, and working groups to foster the exchange of scientific information and collaborative research. A key responsibility is working with program leaders to implement and maintain the Advarra EVAL® database to ensure accurate data required for the NCI Cancer Center Support Grant. The role also coordinates Cancer Center pilot award programs, acting as a knowledge expert for investigators, organizing review committee meetings, maintaining the pilot award database, shepherding proposals, obtaining progress reports, processing no-cost extension requests, and tracking pilot award return on investment. The coordinator will maintain program timelines, track deadlines and components, coordinate and assist in budget development, assist in staff recruitment and training, collect, analyze, and disseminate program data, report program data and progress to stakeholders, provide input on program design, and participate in relevant committees. Collaboration on program materials, including educational, marketing, websites, forms, and reports, is also a part of this role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3 years of experience
  • Knowledge of technical, business, consultation, project management, and cultural awareness.

Responsibilities

  • Support Cancer Center Research Program leaders in coordinating research program activities including program meetings, seminars, retreats and working groups to foster exchange of scientific information and collaborative research.
  • Work with program leaders to implement and maintain Advarra EVAL® database to ensure accurate data required for NCI Cancer Center Support Grant.
  • Coordinate Cancer Center pilot award programs: the Coordinator serves as a knowledge expert for Cancer Center investigators and is responsible for organizing and facilitating review committee meetings, maintaining the Cancer Center pilot award database, shepherding proposals through the funding process, obtaining progress reports, processing no cost extension requests, and tracking pilot award return on investment.
  • Maintain program timeline including tracking deadlines and program components.
  • Coordinate and assist in the development of the program budget.
  • Assist in recruitment and training of program staff.
  • Collect, analyze, and disseminate program data.
  • Report program data and progress to program stakeholders.
  • Provide input on program design.
  • Participate on appropriate committees relevant to the advancement of the program and the profession.
  • Collaborate on the development of program materials including educational materials, marketing materials, websites, forms, and reports.
