About The Position

The Research Program Assistant will perform a variety of supportive and administrative duties to aid in the management of a federally funded study focused on training staff of EmPATH units across the state of South Carolina in the diagnosis and treatment of opioid use disorders. The applicant will coordinate trainings, meetings, perform data entry with regular data quality checks, assist in the preparation of reports and presentations and other aspects of the project, including study closeout, under the direct supervision of the co-principal investigators. After-hours and weekend work will be required. Travel around the state may also be required. The candidate(s) will be directly involved in the collection of questionnaires, interviews, and other data related to ongoing and future training that use both in-person and remote data collection methods. The candidate(s) should be exceptionally well-organized and detail oriented. After hours and weekend work may be occasionally required.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma and four years of relevant program experience.
  • A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the required program experience.

Nice To Haves

  • A bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Psychological & Brain Sciences, Neuroscience, Social Work, Human Development, Public Health, Education, or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day to day program operations.
  • Assist with and coordinate EmPATH unit training.
  • Works with EmPATH staff for timely completion of all program activities and ensures all resource areas are available for completion of training visits.
  • Assist with implementation of the EmPATH unit toolkit.
  • Coordinate follow-up meetings.
  • Coordinates meeting of the advisory board.
  • Keep team and advisory board minutes.
  • Distribute pre- and post- surveys to unit staff.
  • Collates results, prepares reports/presentations, assists with annual reports of study progress.
  • Assist in EmPATH unit recruitment efforts to maximize both visibility and engagement.
  • This includes study staff recruitment metrics and present reports to investigators and relevant staff.
  • The coordinator coordinate responses to inquiries from social media and community advertisements.
  • With PI supervision the program assistant will be responsible for maintaining all regulatory (Institutional Review Board) documents, including yearly progress reports, and study close-outs, deviations, and regulatory binders.
