About The Position

UPMC Presbyterians Shadyside in Pittsburgh, PA seeks multiple Research Program Administrators to provide coordination and oversight of research and administrative operations for research projects in such areas as Alzheimer’s disease, cognitive neuropsychology of aging and neurodegenerative diseases. Responsible for processing NIMH, NIH and foundation grant submissions, with responsibility for the federal grant lifecycle, including proposal development, budgeting, and regulatory compliance with NIH and national agencies. Coordinate complex, multi-site clinical studies and projects involving PET and MR imaging, overseeing recruitment, data acquisition, and site performance. Maintain laboratory operations efficiency, including coordinating a diverse team of postdoctoral associates and research staff. Train and supervise staff and conduct performance reviews. Develop relationships in underserved communities with hospitals, community-based clinics and primary care offices, and other community-based organizations and groups to support the goals of the research projects. Collaborate in drafting research findings for publication in peer-reviewed journals and presentation at seminars/conferences. Collaborate on manuscript preparation and grant application process. Prepare and conduct presentations to community groups, social service agencies, health care centers and hospitals as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or equivalent in Neuroscience, Biostatistics, Health Sciences or related field
  • Four (4) years of research, research data administration, clinical research coordination or related experience
  • working on large-scale human subject research studies in Alzheimer’s disease, neurodegenerative diseases or related experience including;
  • performing clinical and demographic data management
  • providing operational and technical support for grant-funded projects
  • conducting quality control and assurance processes to verify data accuracy, integrity, and adherence to research standards and ensuring participant safety
  • supervising and training staff
  • using advanced computational methods and specialized software including MATLAB, Statistical Parametric Mapping (SPM), Python, and bash scripting.
