About The Position
The Development Macroeconomics Division (DMD) of the Research Department of the IMF is looking for a Research Officer. The candidate will work on research projects of interest to the division, and the development and application of models to country cases, in areas such as climate adaptation, energy transition, public investment, and fiscal policy. Outputs will typically include practical toolkits, research papers, and contributions in policy.
Requirements
- Advanced university degree, or equivalent, in economics, finance, statistics or computer science, or a related field; OR a university degree, or equivalent, supplemented by a minimum of six years of relevant professional experience.
- Strong analytical, quantitative and computer skills.
- Superior academic record.
- Excellent command of English, written and oral.
- Familiarity with software packages, such as Stata, Python, Matlab and Dynare.
Responsibilities
- Work on research projects of interest to the division.
- Develop and apply models to country cases.
- Contribute to practical toolkits, research papers, and policy.
