The Memory and Aging Project (MAP) Research Nurse Coordinator II is a nurse clinician and member of a multidisciplinary team conducting longitudinal research on Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. The role involves clinical assessments of research volunteers, including people with and without cognitive impairment, and their families. Assessments include collecting health and family histories, taking physical measurements, conducting semi-structured interviews, and administering standardized cognitive tests. The coordinator also educates participants and caregivers about dementia and dementia care, and conducts telephone interviews to document cognitive and physical changes between in-person assessments or when a participant cannot attend in person. The coordinator works under the Principal Investigator’s guidance to meet project objectives and may coordinate special studies, including study start-up, participant screening and enrollment, regulatory submissions, and study workflows. The position supports protocol compliance, research documentation, data collection, specimen handling, clinical trial operations, and human-subject protection. It may include training or supervising study personnel and overseeing study medications or interventions when appropriate. This is an office-based research position in St. Louis, Missouri, with semi-flexible hours, typically Monday through Friday. It generally allows eight hours of remote work per week depending on departmental needs. The schedule may include two to three half-day Saturdays per year and a rotation for remote weekend and holiday availability to coordinate brain autopsy arrangements, averaging one weekend every two months. Autopsy call is generally between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays, and University-observed holidays.
