About The Position

Under general supervision of the Principal Investigator, this role provides technical support for the Specialized Histopathology Core Laboratory. The position involves performing tests using histologic, molecular cytogenetic, immunohistochemical, and in situ methods, and analyzing data using basic statistics. The laboratory focuses on the pathology of neurodegenerative disease. This full-time research assistant position in the Department of Pathology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital will conduct research utilizing ultrasensitive seed amplification assays (SAA) alongside ultrasensitive single molecule array (Simoa) and Molecular On-bead Signal Amplification for Individual Counting (MOSAIC) assays. Specific applications include the protein aggregation of recombinantly expressed disordered proteins seeded with patient cerebral-spinal fluid or other bio-fluids, using existing SAA and Simoa/MOSAIC technology or developing new diagnostic techniques. The candidate will work independently to perform experiments and measure biomarkers undetectable by conventional methods, contributing to new insights into diagnostics and treatments for neurodegenerative diseases.
