About The Position

The Research Lab Tech supports laboratory operations for clinical research studies. The role follows study protocols and laboratory and shipping manuals, helps prepare the site and supplies for study visits, collects and processes samples, and maintains accurate laboratory records and sample storage conditions. The position is full-time, 40 hours per week, with a scheduled shift from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and availability required every other weekend.

Requirements

At least 6 months of experience.
High school diploma or GED equivalency.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Motivation to work consistently in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.

Nice To Haves

Phlebotomy experience.

Responsibilities

Follow laboratory procedures and processes specified in study protocols and laboratory and shipping manuals.
Assist the laboratory manager with site preparation for study conduct.
Assist in creating laboratory documents, such as harvest logs.
Prepare collection tubes, vials, and study supplies for visits.
Monitor laboratory sample-storage temperatures and address any excursions.
Maintain harvest logs, chain-of-custody records, laboratory sample manifest and inventory logs, and memos as applicable.
Pack and properly label study materials for storage or return to the sponsor at study closeout.
Obtain samples according to protocol and document the process in source documents.
Process samples according to protocol and ensure centrifuge settings are appropriate.
Regularly inventory supplies and order as needed to ensure supplies are adequate for study visits.
Store samples upright in appropriate shipping boxes in the freezer, keeping primary and secondary samples in separate shipping boxes.
Ensure freezer and refrigerator temperatures are within protocol ranges and maintain appropriate logs.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
