MD Anderson’s Cancer Biology department has a long history of being a leader in the field of basic and translational cancer biology research. The department emphasizes the training of students, postdoctoral fellows and clinical fellows in the fundamentals of tumor biology to improve the outcomes of patients with malignancies. The primary purpose of the Research Investigator is to apply technical expertise and experience to coordinate, design and carry out research projects. This position will assist the principal investigator and postdoctoral fellows with experiments, including data presentation. Experiments include the studies of complex genetically engineered mice, phenotype characterization by tissue analyses and immunohistochemistry, and molecular analyses of tumors and cells. The incumbent is also responsible for maintaining adequate levels of supplies, equipment maintenance and safety oversight for the laboratory. The position requires independent decision making, judgment and organizational skills. The ideal candidate brings experience with complex molecular and cellular techniques, including extracellular vesicle isolation and characterization, and demonstrates strong organizational skills, independent decision making, and the ability to support various research projects across the institution.
