About The Position

Corteva Agriscience, a global leader in crop protection, seed, and digital agricultural solutions, is seeking a Research Scientist to join our Biotechnology subfunction. We are looking for an accomplished scientist with deep expertise in reproductive biology at the intersection of plant breeding and biotechnology. Our team advances tissue culture, molecular biology, and genomics research while integrating gene-editing approaches into next-generation breeding methods. Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Genetics, Plant Molecular Biology, or a closely related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in experimental design, tissue culture, and plant molecular biology techniques, including the design of gene-editing constructs, plant transformation, and DNA sequencing analysis.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with colleagues and stakeholders across diverse linguistic, cultural, and scientific backgrounds.
  • Commitment to working in full compliance with Corteva's Environmental, Health, and Safety requirements.
  • Strong foundation in genomics, with demonstrated expertise in transcriptomics, proteomics, and epigenomic profiling.
  • Proficiency in R, Python, or comparable scientific computing languages for the analysis of large datasets, including the application of agentic AI tools where appropriate.
  • Proven ability to coordinate complex research activities, including experimental planning, oversight of team members' contributions, and maintenance of rigorous data integrity and record-keeping standards.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with high-throughput phenotypic screening, high-content imaging, or advanced microscopy techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Advance doubled haploid technologies through research that supports Seed Product Development objectives, with an emphasis on reducing cost of goods while increasing productivity.
  • Generate mechanistic insights by applying multi-omic approaches to characterize complex biological systems, and integrate diverse experimental results into actionable scientific conclusions.
  • Contribute as both an independent researcher and a collaborative team member within multidisciplinary groups, including engagement in external scientific partnerships and peer-reviewed publications, which are actively encouraged.
  • Champion scientific excellence across R&D and contribute to the development of novel intellectual property.
