About The Position

Since 2009, The Dorm has been a mission-driven, client-centered mental health organization that has been bringing comprehensive, evidence-based treatment to young adults, ages 18-30. Our Research and Innovation team is looking for a thoughtful, detail-oriented Research Intern who will serve as a critical member of our close-knit, dynamic team. The Research Intern will work closely within our team to support research projects, clinical outcomes tracking, chart reviews, survey monitoring, modality reporting, literature reviews, and data-informed storytelling. They will come away with a strong understanding of how research supports clinical care, program development, and organizational impact within a young adult mental health treatment setting. (Summer 2026 - Fall 2026)

Requirements

  • If undergraduate, has to have taken statistics course(s), and be going into senior year of college.
  • Studying or earned degree in the following fields: social work, psychology, behavioral health
  • Experience with SPSS and ability to understand basic statistical concepts.
  • Interest and willingness to learn new concepts related to marketing and data story-telling.

Responsibilities

  • Regular audits of clients status in programming to ensure all clients are accounted for appropriately in respective Dorm Research Projects.
  • Conducts chart reviews of discharged clients, to collect and record data on demographics, clinical diagnoses, outcomes, and other related metrics.
  • Monitoring and recording survey responses from modality surveys by checking Qualtrics regularly and reporting results to Assistant Director of Research & Innovation.
  • Develops Modality Reports for individual clients, as data becomes available using Google Sheets and Google Slides to portray findings in a digestible format for the clinical team to utilize.
  • Manages research conferences spreadsheet to track dates, locations, themes, presentation type, and project submission deadlines for annual research conferences.
  • Proofs data for quarterly presentations to ensure raw data is synthesized accurately.
  • Contributes to the development of academic projects by conducting literature review, writing, proofing and editing copy, and keeping track of references.
  • Assistance with competitive tracking, to monitor trends, outcomes, and modalities across industry competitors.
  • Pulls additional stats from client charts as requested to inform marketing collateral
