About The Position

The American Cancer Society is dedicated to ending cancer. This internship offers the opportunity to participate in health services research projects, developing scientific research skills through data analysis, presenting findings, drafting proposals and manuscripts, and engaging in other scientific activities under senior researcher supervision.

Requirements

  • Data analysis experience: R, SAS, or Stata programming skills in health services research environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills.
  • Full-time student, if you are an undergraduate student, you have completed your freshman year of college.
  • Have a minimum of a B average (cumulative 3.0 on 4.0 scale).
  • Plan to continue your education in the following term/semester.
  • Upload a resume upon application submission.
  • Note: an internship assignment may coincide with your last term/trimester as a full-time student, but the internship must be disengaged upon graduation.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct literature reviews on topics related to modifiable factors affecting access to cancer care and cancer outcomes.
  • Quantitative analyses of health, policy, and environmental data.
  • Prepare materials for scientific presentations.
  • Lead or co-lead a research project in health services research.
