About The Position

Within Reality Labs at Meta, the team develops experiences for Meta AR and AI devices. The team contributed to multimodal Meta AI on Orion and is working on next-generation AR glasses. The intern will help advance the state of the art in on-device AI, focusing on one or more of computer vision, audio interaction, and large language models, while addressing the performance, power, and form-factor constraints of AR glasses.

Requirements

Currently has or is pursuing a PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Programming and simulation experience with languages such as C/C++ and Python.
Experience with computer architecture and hardware/software co-design and co-optimization.
Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment by the time of hire and maintain it during employment.
Intent to return to a full-time degree program after completing the internship.

Nice To Haves

Experience prototyping hardware/software systems using embedded device prototypes and FPGAs.
Experience with operating systems, drivers, and embedded firmware development.
Experience working with a machine learning framework, such as PyTorch.
Experience working and communicating cross-functionally in a team environment.
Demonstrated embedded software experience through an internship, work experience, coding competitions, or widely used open-source contributions, such as on GitHub.

Responsibilities

Build and characterize experimental hardware and software systems on AR devices and device prototypes.
Develop embedded firmware and software in RTOS and mobile operating systems, such as AOSP.
Collaborate with researchers and engineers across disciplines.
