About The Position

The Research Financial Analyst performs monthly expense analysis for research activity within Cancer Research and develops action plans for identified variances in collaboration with principal investigators and the research management team. The analyst serves as a key member of the pre-award team, supporting budget development, negotiation, and execution for new projects. The role also includes invoicing and reconciliation, processing patient payment reimbursements, and negotiating and executing contract budgets. This position supports data-driven decision-making and research initiatives that contribute to improved patient care.

This is a regular PRN position with remote work between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. and a minimum commitment of 10 hours per week. Applicants must reside in Ohio, Florida, or Nevada.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Five years of experience in accounting.
• Practical understanding of accounting and the month-end closing cycle.
• Exceptional experience with financial accounting systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Must reside in Ohio, Florida, or Nevada.

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly research financial oversight and develop action plans for variances and issues with investigators and research management.
• Maintain current knowledge of research and financial policies and applications.
• Monitor for compliance with policy and report compliance issues to the research management team.
• Provide ad hoc reports, reconciliations, and schedules for management.
• Develop and oversee research activity budgets.
• May negotiate budgets, contracts, and business terms with external funding agencies.
• Support budget development, negotiation, and execution for new projects.
• Perform invoicing and reconciliation, process patient payment reimbursements, and negotiate and execute contract budgets.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
