This fellowship provides the Fellow with a formal education and opportunity to gain experience in a health care consulting environment. It aims to enhance the Fellow’s knowledge of literature evaluation, proper research design, biostatistics, and health outcomes research methodologies. The program also provides training and experience in protocol development, data collection, data management, data analysis, presentation of results, and manuscript development. Additionally, the Fellow will gain an understanding of reimbursement principles needed to develop payer strategies, analyze the impact of health policy changes, and conduct provider-based reimbursement education. The fellowship also focuses on developing a keen understanding of the pharmaceutical manufacturer’s business and how they interact with consulting companies for a variety of services. Fellows will learn to understand and apply pharmacoeconomic/health outcomes principles, disseminate evidence through medical communications, apply health outcomes and pharmacoeconomic evidence to managed markets, and understand and apply market research methods. During the Fellowship, the Fellow will also complete a minimum of 30 units of coursework at the University of Florida, College of Pharmacy.

Requirements

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree (completed or in progress)
US citizenship or lawful permanent resident status
Strong academic record — GPA must be included in your CV or cover letter
Demonstrated interest in health outcomes research, market access, or healthcare consulting
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

To provide the Fellow with a formal education and opportunity to gain experience in a health care consulting environment
To enhance the Fellow’s knowledge of literature evaluation, proper research design, biostatics, and health outcomes research methodologies
