About The Position

The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center seek PhD Faculty to join the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Medical Oncology. Academic rank and track commensurate with academic record and experience. The Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Medical Oncology, seeks an accomplished faculty researcher to advance tobacco research through an independent, externally funded program and interdisciplinary collaboration across the OSUCCC – James. The successful candidate will contribute to the institution’s research, education, mentorship, and service missions through the following activities: Develop and lead an independent, externally funded research program in tobacco research. Publish impactful research in peer-reviewed journals and present findings at national and international conferences. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across the OSUCCC – James, including basic scientists, clinicians, and translational researchers. Contribute to graduate and medical education through teaching, mentoring, and curriculum development. Participate in departmental and institutional service, including committee work and strategic initiatives.

Requirements

  • PhD or MD/PhD required
  • Considerable post-doctoral experience in basic research required
  • Considerable experience in tobacco research and policy required
  • Proven ability to write scientific reports and publish in scientific, peer-reviewed journals preferred
  • Understanding of key components of grant writing and obtaining funding in support of research required
  • Experience with administration of funded research required
  • Requires successful completion of a background check.
  • Selected candidate may be requested to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen.
