About The Position

The Research & Evaluation Assistant supports research and evaluation activities that help inform program understanding and improvement. The role helps gather and organize information from different sources and contributes to clear, accessible summaries of findings. It supports the coordination of research tasks within a structured and collaborative environment. Overall, the position provides practical exposure to research and evaluation work in a team setting focused on continuous learning and improvement.

  • Be between 15 to 30 years of age at the start of the employment.
  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.
  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
  • Post-secondary education at the late undergraduate or preferably graduate level in business administration, public health, or social sciences.
  • Ability to synthesize academic literature and translate findings into practical recommendations.
  • Proficient with personal computer applications, including Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook, and Internet search engines.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organization, time management, and multitasking skills.
  • Dependable, detail-oriented, and thorough.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and building a sense of belonging.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge or previous experience with program evaluation, child and youth development, education, or related fields.
  • Previous quantitative and qualitative research experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Support research and evaluation projects by assisting in the design, implementation, and analysis of studies.
  • Conduct literature reviews and environmental scans to identify emerging research, community trends, and promising practices relevant to research and development.
  • Assist with quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis, including surveys, interviews, focus groups, and administrative data, using appropriate analytical software and methods.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and knowledge mobilization materials that translate research findings into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders.
  • Assist with project coordination and research administration, including maintaining documentation, tracking timelines, organizing datasets, and supporting research partnerships as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
