About The Position

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Laboratory Safety Officer, managing radioactivity, lab assets, EHS, chemical, and biological safety.
  • Act as UT facilities contact and ensure laboratory compliance, including personnel training, chemical inventory, and BSL2 inventory.
  • Write protocols for laboratory procedures.
  • Hire, train, and supervise undergraduate students.
  • Arrange for equipment and laboratory repair.
  • Monitor laboratory accounts and oversee lab purchases.
  • Perform protein purification, biochemical assays, and molecular biology techniques.
  • Engage in cloning and other core competencies.
  • Learn and implement new methods as needed for research.
