About The Position
The College of Natural Sciences is seeking a Research Engineering/Scientist Assistant. This position will perform research experiments and assist in mouse colony management. The initial assignment will be for one year, with subsequent renewal based on performance, research progress, and funding continuation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Neuroscience or related field.
- Experience with patch clamp electrophysiology and Ca2+ imaging
- Experience with Molecular Biology and ion channel research
Nice To Haves
- Experience working in research lab
Responsibilities
- Perform experiments relating to electrophysiological and biochemical assays measuring ion channel function
- Collaborate with other lab personnel on projects
- Assistance in mouse colony management and training of other lab personnel in lab techniques and mouse colony management as needed
- Reading scientific literature, writing parts of manuscripts, attendance of seminars/lab meetings, presenting research at internal and external conferences
