About The Position

This position involves performing research experiments and assisting in mouse colony management within the College of Natural Sciences. The initial assignment is for one year, with potential for renewal based on performance, research progress, and funding continuation. The role requires conducting experiments related to electrophysiological and biochemical assays for ion channel function, collaborating with lab personnel, and assisting with mouse colony management and training. Responsibilities also include reading scientific literature, contributing to manuscript writing, attending seminars and lab meetings, and presenting research at conferences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Neuroscience or related field
  • Experience with patch clamp electrophysiology and Ca2+ imaging
  • Experience with Molecular Biology and ion channel research

Responsibilities

  • Perform experiments relating to electrophysiological and biochemical assays measuring ion channel function
  • Collaborate with other lab personnel on projects
  • Assistance in mouse colony management and training of other lab personnel in lab techniques and mouse colony management as needed
  • Reading scientific literature, writing parts of manuscripts, attendance of seminars/lab meetings, presenting research at internal and external conferences
