Here, you will make an impact by: Developing capabilities in precision coating and web processing technologies and applying them to new products and processes. Ensuring successful technology scale-up from laboratory to manufacturing. Characterizing and analyzing physical properties of fluids, dispersions, and substrates. Presenting results in a clear and concise manner to multidisciplinary teams. Initiating and contributing to the development of intellectual property. Responsibilities of this position include that corporate policies, procedures and security standards are complied with while performing assigned duties. Safety is a core value at 3M. Requirements

Currently possess or be in final year of Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Materials Science, or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
All US-based 3M full time employees will need to sign an employee agreement as a condition of employment with 3M. This agreement lays out key terms on using 3M Confidential Information and Trade Secrets. It also has provisions discussing conflicts of interest and how inventions are assigned.
Employees that are Job Grade 7 or equivalent and above may also have obligations to not compete against 3M or solicit its employees or customers, both during their employment, and for a period after they leave 3M.

Experience running experiments and applying the scientific method

Understanding of materials properties, rheology, metrology, and process equipment
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Experience with one of the common CAD systems such as AutoCad, Solidworks, etc.
Previous or current 3M Internship, Co-Op or Tech Aide experience
