About The Position

PeopleTec is currently seeking a Research Engineer / Scientist to support our Huntsville, AL location. We are seeking a Research Engineer/Scientist to join our team at PeopleTec, Inc. This is an entry-level position for individuals with 0-3 years of experience in engineering, physics, or related STEM fields. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical foundation and a desire to contribute to research and development (R&D) projects in areas such as engineering physics, electronics, RF systems, and emerging technologies. In this role, you will work as part of a collaborative team to design experiments, develop models, and analyze data to solve complex technical challenges. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects in Government and contractor laboratories, gaining hands-on experience and building your technical expertise. Candidates with experience or interest in RF systems, electronics, or chip design are encouraged to apply, though this is not a requirement for the position. This position is ideal for recent graduates who are eager to apply their education to real-world problems, develop new skills, and grow their careers in a dynamic research environment.

Requirements

  • 0-3 years of experience in a research or technical role, including internships, co-op programs, or academic projects.
  • Strong understanding of scientific principles, laboratory techniques, and engineering concepts.
  • Familiarity with programming languages and tools such as Python, MATLAB, or similar for data analysis and modeling.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document and present technical findings clearly.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to new challenges.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance and the ability to maintain this level of clearance during their employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience or coursework in RF systems, electronics, or chip design.
  • Master’s degree
  • Minimum GPA of 3.5 or higher

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the design and execution of experiments, including laboratory and simulation-based activities.
  • Conduct data analysis and contribute to the development of computational models using tools such as MATLAB, Python, or similar software.
  • Collaborate with engineers and scientists to develop and test hypotheses related to engineering, physics, and emerging technologies.
  • Support the development of technical documentation, including research reports, experimental procedures, and presentations.
  • Operate and troubleshoot laboratory equipment, including instrumentation and measurement systems.
  • Participate in project meetings to discuss technical progress and contribute to problem-solving efforts.
  • Stay current with relevant scientific literature and emerging technologies to support research activities.
  • Contribute to the preparation of customer deliverables and assist with proposal development as needed.
