About The Position

PeopleTec is currently seeking a Research Engineer / Scientist to support our Huntsville, AL location. We are seeking a Research Engineer/Scientist to join our team at PeopleTec, Inc. This is an entry-level position for individuals with 0-3 years of experience in engineering, physics, or related STEM fields. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical foundation and a desire to contribute to research and development (R&D) projects in areas such as engineering physics, electronics, RF systems, and emerging technologies. In this role, you will work as part of a collaborative team to design experiments, develop models, and analyze data to solve complex technical challenges. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects in Government and contractor laboratories, gaining hands-on experience and building your technical expertise. Candidates with experience or interest in RF systems, electronics, or chip design are encouraged to apply, though this is not a requirement for the position. This position is ideal for recent graduates who are eager to apply their education to real-world problems, develop new skills, and grow their careers in a dynamic research environment.

Requirements

0-3 years of experience in a research or technical role, including internships, co-op programs, or academic projects.
Strong understanding of scientific principles, laboratory techniques, and engineering concepts.
Familiarity with programming languages and tools such as Python, MATLAB, or similar for data analysis and modeling.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document and present technical findings clearly.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to new challenges.
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance and the ability to maintain this level of clearance during their employment.

Nice To Haves

Experience or coursework in RF systems, electronics, or chip design.
Master's degree is preferred but not required.
Minimum GPA of 3.5 or higher is preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist with the design and execution of experiments, including laboratory and simulation-based activities.
Conduct data analysis and contribute to the development of computational models using tools such as MATLAB, Python, or similar software.
Collaborate with engineers and scientists to develop and test hypotheses related to engineering, physics, and emerging technologies.
Support the development of technical documentation, including research reports, experimental procedures, and presentations.
Operate and troubleshoot laboratory equipment, including instrumentation and measurement systems.
Participate in project meetings to discuss technical progress and contribute to problem-solving efforts.
Stay current with relevant scientific literature and emerging technologies to support research activities.
Contribute to the preparation of customer deliverables and assist with proposal development as needed.
