This position will be responsible for operating additive manufacturing equipment to produce novel prototypes for a wide variety of end-users. Large-scale 3D printing is a cutting-edge area of research currently being led by the University of Maine and made possible by the World’s Largest Polymer 3D Printers. This position will support the 3D printing laboratory operations team through development of laboratory operations procedures, assembly, operation, and maintenance of 3D printers. Training of students on the use of printers and troubleshooting problems is expected. This position has been designated as an “Essential Employee” role. This designation means that, in the event of an emergency (including but not limited to severe weather, natural or human-caused disasters, public health emergencies, operational disruptions, or campus closures), you may be required to work to support the continuity of critical University functions.
