About The Position

The Advanced Dynamics and Control Laboratory in the College of Engineering at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University invites applications for a Research Engineer position in the area of Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC). The successful candidate will contribute to cutting-edge research focused on intelligent and adaptive flight control systems, path planning under uncertainty, and machine-learning-enhanced autonomy for Advanced Air Mobility.

Requirements

Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering, or a closely related field by the start date.
Strong foundation in at least one of the following areas: Adaptive control theory, Guidance and path planning, Machine learning for control or estimation
Excellent communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

Experience with real-time embedded systems.
Background in AI-control frameworks.
Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink and Python.
Flight testing and instrumentation

Responsibilities

Conducting advanced research in GNC with applications to aerospace systems
Designing, implementing, and testing control algorithms in simulation and hardware platforms
Contributing to publications and reports; presenting research findings at conferences
Collaborating with faculty, graduate students, and external partners
Supporting laboratory activities, including flight testing and system integration
