About The Position

Leidos Defense Systems is seeking a talented Navigation, Guidance, Control SME Engineer for its Hypersonics line of business. The selected candidate will support the Common Hypersonic Glide Body program (CHGB), which is the Army’s #1 priority for strategic weapons capability for long-range precision fires. This role involves contributing to cutting-edge technology in a fast-paced environment. Requirements

  • A BS in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution
  • 4+ years of relevant experience (or 8+ years of relevant experience in lieu of degree) or a MS in Electrical Engineering and 2+ years of relevant experience
  • Must be capable of reading engineering drawings, electrical schematics, cable/wiring diagrams, and the corresponding work instructions to produce complex assemblies and provide valuable feedback to program leadership
  • Familiarity with requirement decomposition
  • Experience in electronics integration, test, and troubleshooting
  • Must have hands-on laboratory experience with instrumentation, test equipment, and test methods including the use of oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, etc.
  • Knowledge of test procedure development
  • Knowledge of post test data processing
  • Knowledge of environmental testing
  • Knowledge of circuit design – analog, digital, power
  • Organizational skills to document designs, assist with Technical Data Packages (TDP)

Nice To Haves

  • Active DoD Secret clearance
  • Experience with manufacturing and production of avionics components
  • Knowledge of test development to support troubleshooting hardware failures
  • Knowledge of National Instruments Software
  • Experience in a MIL-STD-810 Test Environment
  • Knowledge of ASME and IEEE standards
  • Experience supporting DoD programs related to missile systems, reentry vehicles, or hypersonic technologies
  • Prior work in assembly, integration, or testing of missile systems.
  • Experience supporting rapid development, prototyping, or fast-paced engineering programs.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct non-conformances investigations
  • Troubleshoot test equipment and unit under test
  • Work through root cause corrective action
  • Assist in requirement decomposition
  • Provide rapid integration and troubleshooting support for system-level integration
  • Support production and test of the avionics
  • Effectively communicating within a team environment, which will include test and manufacturing engineers
