About the position
The Research Engineer role at the USGA is responsible for conducting research and testing on golf and golf equipment-related projects. They collaborate with various teams within the organization, including the Equipment Standards team, Conformance Administration, Testing and Research staff, and the R&A Equipment Standards group. The Research Engineer will also work with professional golf tour players and administrators as necessary, as well as the USGA Championship, IT, and accounting teams. The main responsibilities include managing and analyzing results from technical research and testing projects, developing new test methodologies and equipment, and preparing reports and presentations of research findings. Off-site player testing and data collection may also be required.
Responsibilities
Requirements
- BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical field
- MS degree or 3+ years' experience in an Engineering role preferred
- Previous experience with testing or measurement
- Previous experience with data analysis and statistics
