WinField United Research & Development Lab Intern, Summer 2027
About The Position
WinField United is seeking Research & Development Lab Interns for Summer 2027 at their WinField United Innovation Center in River Falls, WI. This 11-week internship (May – August 2027) offers paid hourly compensation of $25.00/hour, with potential relocation assistance for eligible candidates. Interns will support the chemistry, biological, phenotyping, and controlled environments laboratories within the Product Development group. The Innovation Center is equipped with greenhouses, growth chambers, chemistry labs, and specialized research facilities for plant and agricultural research. Interns will gain hands-on experience in agricultural research, product development, and applied science by assisting in research trials, preparing materials, operating equipment, conducting lab and greenhouse procedures, collecting and analyzing data, and supporting product development and validation. This role provides a collaborative innovation environment and opportunities to network with industry leaders, tour facilities, and work on a business-critical project.
Requirements
- Sophomore (preferred) or junior undergraduate pursuing a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, horticulture, plant science, plant pathology, or other related field of study
- Required GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Ability to adhere to strict safety standards when handling crop protection products in lab setting.
- Properly wear chemical application equipment and personal protective equipment while working as required by job duties.

Responsibilities
- Assist in the execution of research trials and experiments conducted in greenhouse, growth chamber, chemistry and laboratory settings.
- Prepare materials and experimental treatments.
- Operate research equipment.
- Conduct laboratory and greenhouse procedures.
- Collect and analyze data.
- Support the development and validation of new and existing WinField United products.
