Research Data Analyst - HDFCCC
About The Position
This entry-level professional role involves gathering, analyzing, and interpreting a wide variety of research data. The incumbent will design and conduct research, including selecting data samples, developing research instruments, analyzing collected information using established statistical methods, and developing recommendations based on research findings. Responsibilities include preparing reports, charts, tables, and other visual aids to interpret and communicate data and results. Under direct supervision, the incumbent will acquire skills and knowledge of professional concepts in research data analysis and work on small projects or segments of projects with limited scope and complexity. The position performs basic statistical and data analysis and supports the collection, preparation, cleaning, and review of research data for analysis and inclusion in reports. The incumbent will assist with report preparation and data analysis for internal constituents and support the evaluation and research of data reporting products. The position uses data visualization and reporting tools such as Tableau, Jaspersoft, Power BI, and other relevant platforms, with an expectation of developing proficiency in tools appropriate to assigned projects and reporting needs. The position requires familiarity with SQL and data platforms such as Snowflake, Oracle, SQL Server, or similar systems, as well as familiarity with scripting and analytical tools such as Python, R, or comparable technologies. The incumbent applies foundational technical and analytical skills while continuing to develop knowledge of data analysis, reporting, visualization, and related tools under direct supervision.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
- Acquiring knowledge of research function.
- Acquiring ability to perform research analysis duties.
- Acquiring statistical analysis, systems programming, and database design skills to perform research analysis duties.
- Ability to effectively manage time and see assigned parts of projects through to completion on deadline.
- Basic consultation and communication skills.
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with SQL and data platforms such as Snowflake, Oracle, SQL Server, or similar systems.
- Familiarity with scripting and analytical tools such as Python, R, or comparable technologies.
- Proficiency in data visualization and reporting tools such as Tableau, Jaspersoft, Power BI, and other relevant platforms.
