The Research Data Analyst II provides research analytical, administrative, and program-coordination support to projects led by Dr. Elizabeth Dzeng in Hospital Medicine and Palliative Medicine. The role supports multiple projects examining how financialization and other system-level factors affect serious illness and end-of-life care, including clinicians’ ability to provide high-quality, patient-centered care and patients’ and surrogates’ decision-making about intensive life-sustaining treatment. The analyst will also support research on structural racism and end-of-life care among older Black adults, and comparative ethnographic and human-centered design research involving older adults with and without dementia. The position works with a research team on qualitative, mixed-methods, and quantitative research, including data collection and analysis, qualitative coding, management of the Atlas.ti database, and development of research outputs such as manuscripts, posters, conference presentations, and policy or public-facing materials. The analyst will help identify synergies across these projects and other work in the Division of Hospital Medicine. The ideal candidate is familiar with clinical medicine, clinical research, or health care, as well as social sciences and qualitative research; familiarity or experience with health equity work or human-centered design is preferred.
