Research Coordinator, Long Term Memory Lab - Psychology
About The Position
The Department of Psychology at the University of Virginia (UVA) seeks applications for a Research Coordinator for the Long Term Memory Lab. The lab's research focuses on understanding how strategic, goal-directed processes influence memory formation and retrieval. Utilizing techniques such as scalp EEG and fMRI, combined with various data analytic methods, the lab investigates the role of global brain states and organizational strategies in successful memory formation and retrieval. The primary goal is to elucidate the neural mechanisms supporting memory formation and retrieval by collecting behavioral, EEG, and fMRI data from human subjects performing memory tasks. Requirements

- Experience managing recruiting and enrolling participants
- Experience coordinating schedules and contacting participants via telephone and email
- Experience overseeing data collection and data storage including study records for multiple ongoing research projects
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration in psychology, neuroscience, cognitive neuroscience, biomedical engineering, computer science, or any other related fields
- Previous research experience (>1 year)
- Strong quantitative skills
- Familiarity with standard neuroimaging analysis methods
Responsibilities
- Carrying out behavioral and neural experiments including consenting, recording, debriefing, and paying participants
- Training lab members in behavioral data collection
- Training lab members in EEG data collection
- Scheduling and managing undergraduate research assistants
- Presenting research at lab meetings
- Presenting research at local and/or national conferences
