About The Position

Temple University's Lewis Katz School of Medicine is searching for a Research Coordinator! The Research Coordinator, at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine's Center for Asian Health (CAH), will work on several large-scale clinical, translational, and community-based research projects with clinical principal investigators and senior team staff at the CAH. This person will serve as the primary coordinator for multiple concurrent research projects, managing project coordination, project strategy development, study implementation, Institutional Review Board (IRB) submissions and renewals, regulatory compliance, data management, manuscript development, publication submission, grant preparation, and research timelines. The Research Coordinator will proactively monitor project progress, identify barriers to completion, coordinate investigators, collaborators, trainees, and research personnel, and facilitate the timely completion of manuscripts, presentations, grant applications, regulatory submissions, and other scholarly activities. This individual will work with a high degree of independence while ensuring that research projects remain organized, productive, and aligned with strategic priorities and publication goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences, Psychology, Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Biology, or a related field required and at least two years' related research coordination experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of clinical and translational research methodology, study design, regulatory requirements, and research ethics is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Clinical Research, Biostatistics, or a related discipline.
  • Experience with scientific publishing, grant preparation, and regulatory compliance is preferred.
  • Proficiency in a second language is preferred (both verbal and written).
  • A strong statistical background with experience managing, analyzing, interpreting, and presenting research data using a variety of quantitative analytical methods is highly desirable. Experience using statistical software such as SPSS, SAS, R, Stata, or equivalent analytical programs is preferred.
  • Experience with Institutional Review Board (IRB) submissions, research databases (e.g., REDCap), scientific writing, manuscript preparation, publication management, grant preparation, and project coordination is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Principal Investigator to ensure that the research portfolio progresses efficiently and that scholarly goals are achieved on schedule.
  • Maintain oversight of multiple concurrent research projects.
  • Develop and update comprehensive project timelines and milestone trackers.
  • Monitor progress toward manuscript, presentation, grant, and regulatory deadlines.
  • Ensure research priorities remain aligned with the strategic goals of the Center.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned research projects.
  • Coordinate activities among principal investigators, collaborators, trainees, students, statisticians, and research personnel.
  • Develop and maintain project timelines, milestone trackers, and action plans.
  • Monitor research progress and facilitate the timely completion of project deliverables.
  • Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, document action items, and communicate project updates.
  • Oversee the day-to-day implementation of active research studies and serves as a liaison between investigators, participants, clinical teams, and community partners.
  • Coordinating participant recruitment, enrollment, and informed consent.
  • Scheduling study visits and research activities.
  • Coordinating community outreach, educational programs, and research interventions.
  • Presenting project updates during research meetings.
  • Maintaining study documentation and research records.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with institutional, regulatory, and sponsor requirements throughout the lifecycle of each project.
  • Preparing and submitting IRB applications, amendments, continuing reviews, and study closures.
  • Maintaining regulatory documentation and study records.
  • Monitoring compliance with institutional policies and sponsor requirements.
  • Assisting with grant reporting and regulatory documentation.
  • Oversees research data management activities and supports quantitative analyses necessary for scientific publication.
  • Coordinating data collection, organization, quality assurance, and database management.
  • Performing or coordinating statistical analyses using appropriate analytical methods.
  • Preparing publication-quality tables, figures, and graphical data visualizations.
  • Assisting investigators with interpretation and presentation of research findings.
  • Supports all phases of scholarly dissemination.
  • Conducting literature reviews.
  • Drafting, editing, and reviewing manuscripts, abstracts, presentations, and reports.
  • Coordinating manuscript development among multiple authors.
  • Managing journal submissions and peer-review revisions.
  • Communicating with journal editors and publishers throughout the publication process.
  • Coordinating grant timelines and submission requirements.
  • Preparing supporting documents and administrative materials.
  • Assisting with investigator-initiated grant proposals and progress reports.
  • Maintaining compliance with sponsor requirements.
