About The Position

The research coordinator will perform daily functions in the Research Ethics Office related to the IRB. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Provide leadership/mentorship to a team of assistant and research coordinators Preliminary review of research applications Review of revised research applications Issuing approvals of research applications upon verification of received revisions Responding to applicant questions via email and phone Taking minutes at committee meetings Assisting with research document and webpage revisions and procedural changes Assisting with policy and procedure development QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS Education and Experience Minimum: Bachelor’s degree Preferred: Master’s degree with thesis experience Experience with or an understanding of research preparation and procedures (preferred but not required) ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES ESSENTIAL TO THE FUNCTION OF THE JOB Communication and Comprehension Knowledge of and ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Ability to comprehend federal regulations and policies Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to convey clear, well-articulated information Detail oriented Well organized and able to multitask Problem Solving Intuitively able to reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature Physical and Sensory Abilities Frequently required to sit for extended periods to perform deskwork or type on a keyboard Regularly required to hear and speak to effectively communicate orally Occasionally required to stand, walk, and climb stairs to move about the building WORKING CONDITIONS Work Environment The working environment in which one will typically perform the essential functions of this position is a climate-controlled, shared office setting.
