About The Position

The Research Coordinator II will be responsible for coordinating biomedical informatics research studies. This includes tracking objectives, milestones, deliverables, and status reports. The role involves translating study design decisions into actionable tasks, managing communication among staff, sponsors, healthcare professionals, and investigators, and ensuring timely delivery of reports. The coordinator will also work with investigators and administrative staff to maintain budgets, monitor project spending, develop and maintain IRB protocols, and prepare progress reports and other research documentation. Additionally, the position involves organizing and leading project meetings, communicating project updates, coordinating grant proposal development, identifying funding opportunities, and implementing research protocols from recruitment to data collection and analysis. The role also includes assisting investigators in producing publications and presentations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent attention to detail, particularly with regard to interpreting and implementing protocols and in terms of collecting data to ensure accuracy and integrity.
  • Excellent written (in English) and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and to collaborate with faculty, staff, and healthcare professionals at multiple levels.
  • Demonstrate strong skills and proficiency in Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Adobe, and Project Management software.
  • Working knowledge of informatics and/or health-related research.
  • Ability to handle protected health information and human subject issues.
  • Ability to interpret basic statistical results.
  • Ability to work with investigators to draft project proposals and plans, manuscripts for publication in peer-review journals, and project reports.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree with at least two years of experience in conducting health services, informatics, or other health-related research.
  • Asana and Atlassian products preferred for project management software.

Responsibilities

  • Manage communication among staff, study sponsors, healthcare professionals, and investigators to ensure on-time reports and deliverables.
  • Work with investigators and administrative staff to maintain budgets, monitor project spending, and develop and maintain IRB protocols.
  • Prepare and submit progress reports and other research-related documentation.
  • Organize and lead project and team meetings.
  • Track and communicate project updates to team members, leadership, and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate grant proposal development with investigators and grants administrators, managing submission milestones and deadlines.
  • Identify and review extramural funding opportunities and share them with investigators and partners.
  • Conduct all phases of quantitative and qualitative research, including study recruitment, informed consent, retention, and data collection and analysis.
  • Communicate with study participants to address questions/issues and implement study protocols.
  • Produce publications in peer-reviewed journals and presentations to academic, organizational, and community audiences with investigators.
