The Research Assistant II will serve as a resource within the CuSTOM Program, demonstrating competence in specific knowledge, skills, and behaviors. This role involves effectively communicating with team members, contributing to their growth by sharing knowledge, and staying abreast of changes in key systems. The assistant will perform experiments, meticulously record data, analyze results using statistical and graphical methods, and design and execute daily laboratory experiments in coordination with senior personnel. They will also be responsible for reproducing and evaluating techniques and results for accuracy, applying standard protocols, improving current methods, and evaluating innovative techniques. Additionally, the role includes assisting in training students and junior personnel in laboratory techniques and equipment operation. A key aspect of this position is customer service, which involves maintaining strong working relationships with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders, responding quickly and effectively to requests, identifying and understanding customer needs, and communicating relevant information. Administrative duties include troubleshooting and correcting erroneous results or equipment problems, maintaining inventory of supplies and equipment, maintaining cell cultures, operating and maintaining standard laboratory equipment, and responding to equipment issues. The assistant will also support daily lab operations such as answering phones, managing supplies, and ensuring organization and cleanliness. Safety monitoring checks, including radiation and biosafety, will also be assigned.
