Research Associate/Senior Research Associate, AAV Purification - Cell, Assay, and Vector Engineering

ShapeTX is seeking a highly motivated individual to join their Research team as a Research Associate/Senior Research Associate, AAV Purification. The successful candidate will be responsible for purifying and characterizing AAV to support the early research pipeline and ShapeTX's RNAfixTM and RNAskipTM technology platforms. They will also conduct exploratory research to develop novel AAV purification methods. The ideal candidate will have experience in AAV/viral purification or broad recombinant protein purification, as well as a collaborative spirit and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.

• Purification of AAV vectors to support internal research programs at ShapeTX
• Execution of rigorous and well-controlled experiments with supervision
• Execution of new biochemical methods for purification of AAV
• Basic analysis of AAV using qPCR, ddPCR, ELISA, SDS-PAGE, and DNA gels
• Analyzing and communicating results in small team settings
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-science environment
• Ability to think outside the box and tackle challenges with a problem-solving, can-do attitude
• AAV production, purification, or analytics experience
• Experience with protein purification techniques such as Affinity, AEX, SEC, etc.
• Experience with liquid chromatography techniques such as FPLC, HPLC
• Experience with gradient ultracentrifugation
• Experience with molecular biology techniques and analysis (DNA/RNA)

• BS/MS in molecular/cellular biology or other relevant scientific discipline
• 1-5 years experience in an industry setting
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-science environment
• Ability to think outside the box and tackle challenges with a problem-solving, can-do attitude
• AAV production, purification, or analytics experience
• Experience with protein purification (Affinity, AEX, SEC, etc)
• Experience with liquid chromatography (FPLC, HPLC)

• Salary range of $61,000 – $98,000
