The Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine on Moses Campus, Bronx, NY is now accepting applications for a one or two-year (preferred), full-time research associate position in the Dialectical Behavior Therapy for Adolescents (DBT-A) Program for 2026-2028. The DBT-A Program serves adolescents between the ages of 13 and 18 and their caregivers. DBT is an evidence-based psychotherapy that blends standard cognitive-behavioral therapy with the eastern philosophy of mindfulness. Designed for individuals who engage in suicidal, self-injurious, and high-risk behaviors, DBT has been shown to help keep multi-problem teens in outpatient care, decrease inpatient hospitalizations, and reduce depression, anxiety, borderline personality disorder symptoms, and self-injury and suicide attempts. The research associate will collaborate on a grant project that aims to optimize DBT-A to incorporate cultural humility, antiracism and intersectionality principles, center voices of BIPOC youth through continuous collaboration, enhance engagement from families and communities, explore protective factors for suicide among BIPOC youth, and expand the capacity of Montefiate's DBT-A Program to provide services to BIPOC youth.
