About The Position

Performs specialized work in investigating prostate cancer progression and therapeutic response through the integration of in vivo and in vitro tumor models, 3D organoid culture systems, prostate biology, and tumor microenvironment (TME) biology. This position will work in the planning, conducting and/or supervising of original research at TTUHSC. Responsible for participating in, planning, scheduling and/or supervising research projects and the interpretation of the results for publication. Work is performed under general supervision with evaluation based on accomplishment of assigned objectives and overall effectiveness of project. May supervise research and student assistants. Employ genetic perturbation strategies, including knockouts, knockdowns, and overexpression. Dissect molecular mechanisms driving disease. Design, execute, and optimize rigorous in vivo and in vitro experiments in prostate cancer biology. Analyze, interpret, and present experimental data at laboratory meetings. Contribute to manuscripts and publications while collaborating closely with clinicians, computational scientists, and core facilities.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or specialized academic training beyond the Bachelor's degree in a particular field of science or engineering equivalent to a Master's degree
  • Knowledge of modern research practices, the methods, resources, and standards thereof
  • Background checks, including criminal history and other security-related screenings
  • Successful completion of background checks
