Howmet Aerospace’s Hampton Structural Castings (HSC) is seeking an Engineering Technician who has a demonstrated ability to achieve results, as well as the passion to put that experience to work to lead activities and support the plant/location team to achieve manufacturing excellence. Requirements

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Capable of effective communication with all levels of the plant personnel.
  • Must be self-motivated, an independent thinker, and able to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience in manufacturing or a technical role
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and math skills
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Must be available and willing to work overtime as needed
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.
  • This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.

Nice To Haves

  • Some coursework towards an Engineering or Technical degree preferred.
  • Previous experience with dimensional measurement devices (calipers, CMM UT, Pincher Gauges, etc.)
  • CAD and blueprint interpretation experience
  • Familiarity with FPI, X-ray, and V isual I nspection

Responsibilities

  • Review and update department processes and instructions.
  • Based on directions provided by engineering and knowledge developed on the job, determine appropriate actions to be applied by monitoring performance, analyze data and identify trends to predict potential issues.
  • Provide staff with rework instructions and guidance.
  • Perform engineering activities as assigned to provide engineering support during hours when engineers are not present.
