About The Position

The Moyle Lab in the Department of Biology at Indiana University, Bloomington is seeking a Research Associate/Lab manager. Our department is a large, unified department with world-class research spanning all levels of biological organization and diverse experimental systems. Our lab in Evolution, Ecology, and Behavior investigates the genetic and evolutionary processes that shape speciation and adaptation. We use experiments, observations, and genomic analyses alongside other tools, focusing especially on plant species in the hyperdiverse Solanaceae. The main goal for this position is to conduct research investigating ecological, functional, and genetic variation associated with fruit color transitions, to understand mechanisms of repeated evolution of this important and diverse trait.

Requirements

  • Research Associate/Lab Manager role in Biology
  • Experience in Evolution, Ecology, and Behavior research
  • Proficiency in experiments, observations, and genomic analyses
  • Focus on plant species, particularly in the Solanaceae family
  • Understanding of genetic and evolutionary processes shaping speciation and adaptation
  • Ability to investigate ecological, functional, and genetic variation associated with fruit color transitions
  • Knowledge of mechanisms of repeated evolution
