About The Position

The Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard is a leading biomedical research institute dedicated to using genomics to transform the understanding and treatment of disease. Its mission includes describing molecular components of life, discovering the molecular basis of human diseases, developing new diagnostics and therapeutics, and openly disseminating discoveries. Founded in 2004, the Broad Institute collaborates with over a hundred institutions globally. The Sabeti Lab, affiliated with Harvard University and the Broad Institute, focuses on developing and utilizing cutting-edge experimental techniques to study pathogen evolution, diagnosis, and prevention of infectious diseases. This includes developing CRISPR-based technologies like CARMEN and SHINE for viral diagnostics. The lab is seeking a highly motivated individual to join the Diagnostics Team to develop PCR and CRISPR-based diagnostic assays. This role involves expanding these technologies for use as front-line surveillance tools targeting multiple pathogens in various West African countries. The position offers an excellent opportunity for professional advancement, skill development, and authorship on high-impact publications within a dynamic and fast-paced research environment. Effective communication, teamwork, and a strong desire to contribute to translational research are essential.
