The Center for Genome Architecture studies how the genome folds inside the nucleus and how that organization affects biological processes. The Center has produced high-resolution three-dimensional maps of the human genome, identified chromatin loops and contact domains as key features of genome organization, and investigated how loop extrusion and cohesin contribute to these structures. The Center is expanding its experimental work, including a growing mouse research program, to study these principles in living tissues and explore the use of these technologies as a diagnostic. The Research Associate II performs molecular biology work and sequencing library preparation, contributes to analysis and quality control of resulting data, and troubleshoots and optimizes protocols. The role also participates in mouse work, including colony management, genotyping, treatment, and tissue collection. Prior mouse experience is a plus but is not required. Under general supervision, the position performs routine and non-routine research assignments and experiments of moderate complexity and assists with laboratory maintenance.
