About The Position

The Center for Genome Architecture studies how the genome folds inside the nucleus and how that folding affects biological function. Its work includes developing high-resolution three-dimensional maps of the human genome and investigating chromatin loops, contact domains, loop extrusion, cohesin, and fossil chromosomes. The Center is expanding experimental research, including mouse studies, to understand how genome-organization principles operate in living tissues and to explore diagnostic applications. The Research Associate II performs molecular biology and sequencing library preparation, contributes to analysis and quality control of resulting data, troubleshoots and optimizes protocols, and participates in mouse work, including colony management, genotyping, treatment, and tissue collection. The role also carries out research assignments and experiments and assists with laboratory maintenance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in basic science or equivalent and 2 years of related experience, or a Master's degree in basic science or equivalent with no experience required.
  • Skills in animal science/care, surgery, biological assays, quantitative analysis, qualitative analysis, data analysis, data tabulation, equipment calibration, technical writing, and use of standard laboratory equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior mouse experience is a plus but is not required.
