Seattle Children’s Therapeutics (SCTx), part of Seattle Children’s Research Institute, is seeking a motivated Research Associate I to join its Research and Development group. SCTx applies a biotech-industry business model in a nonprofit setting to develop therapies for pediatric cancer and other conditions. The R&D lab conducts collaborative, fast-paced research on CAR T cells and allogeneic immunotherapy. Success requires a willingness to learn, a passion for science, a collaborative spirit, and adaptability to changing priorities. The role supports the R&D laboratory through mammalian cell culture, established in vitro assays, sample preparation for flow cytometry and other assays, and standardized laboratory work such as mycoplasma testing, routine qPCR, and lentiviral vector manufacturing. The associate also prepares and organizes supplies, reagents, cell culture media, buffers, and experimental materials. The position may involve supporting animal handling, monitoring, and experimental procedures with murine models under the supervision of experienced research personnel. The Research Associate will follow Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), standard operating procedures (SOPs), and institutional laboratory policies, and will maintain accurate experimental records and study documentation. A bachelor’s degree in microbiology, biochemistry, immunology, or a related field and at least one year of laboratory research experience are required. Previous experience in molecular biology and biochemistry techniques, computer familiarity, spreadsheet data entry and analysis, and statistical analysis are preferred.
