About The Position

As a Research Associate, Associate Principal with AMERICAN SYSTEMS, you will have the opportunity to do the following: Support the Office of Critical Technologies as it guides and supports modern research and analysis of strategic biotechnology initiatives. Advise top Pentagon leadership on biotechnology issues. Work to evaluate and secure cutting-edge technology essential to the modernization of national strategy in defense. Represent USD R&E on Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and participate in Government-approved conferences and forums in addition to specific USD R&E projects. Assist, prepare and conduct meetings for current Biotechnology issues. Conduct biotechnology research analysis. Develop and coordinate concepts and requirements for the application of current and emerging technologies as they apply to DoD's R&E program. Assist and prepare presentations and reports to DoD leadership and outside DoD. Track the department-wide budget for efforts aligning with Biotechnology. Maintain and update Biotechnology modernization roadmaps, coordinate roadmaps with key stakeholders. Make recommendations to the development of Concepts of Operations (CONOPS) pertinent to mission needs and technical capabilities.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience of engineering, biotechnology, and Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E)
  • Master’s degree in STEM and minimum of 5-years recent experience in biotechnology or an MBA degree.
  • Must have a current and active TS/SCI Clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship Required for the purposes of obtaining/holding a U.S. security clearance.
  • Excellent writing, communication and briefing.
