About The Position

AlivaMab Biologics is seeking an outstanding individual to join the Antibody Discovery Team. The successful candidate will serve as the Research Associate, supporting antibody discovery and screening workflows, enabling identification of antibody hits with therapeutic potential from the AlivaMab® Mouse platform, and contributing to broader technology development and companywide initiatives in collaboration with cross-functional scientific teams, working closely with scientists in Antibody Discovery, Antibody Engineering, and Protein Sciences teams. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated team player and able to multitask in an exciting, fast-paced environment, working to discover the next generation of breakthrough antibody drugs.

Requirements

  • BS or MS in immunology, cell biology, or related discipline with 0-3 years of relevant industrial or academic experience.
  • Small-animal work, including immunization, blood collection, and tissue harvest performed in accordance with IACUC guidelines, is an integral part of this role. Prior hands-on experience with these procedures is an advantage.
  • Aseptic mammalian tissue culture experience is required.
  • Demonstrated expertise in culturing cancer cell lines and hybridomas is preferred.
  • Ability to work efficiently, both independently and as part of a team, on challenging drug discovery projects that use high-throughput cell culture and antibody screening techniques.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and GraphPad Prism.
  • The successful candidate will be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to learn and develop new skills and techniques in antibody drug discovery.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Motivated self-starter with excellent organization, teamwork, and a passion for scientific innovation

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Benchling ELN/LIMS is a plus.
  • Experience with stable cell line generation, cell sorting, and/or experimental design of cell-based assays is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mouse immunizations, sera titer assessment, and tissue collection
  • Maintain mammalian cell lines for cell-based assays across multiple projects
  • Screen antibodies using ELISA, flow cytometry, and cell-based functional assays
  • Prepare reagents and maintain an up-to-date inventory, including monitoring stock levels and reordering as needed
  • Demonstrate initiative and creativity in experimental design, execution, and troubleshooting
  • Execute high-throughput processes to support antibody discovery and screening workflows using automation
  • Effectively maintain meticulous records of lab activities using an electronic notebook (Benchling); communicate findings clearly through written reports and presentations to support project progression and scientific decision-making
  • Contribute innovative ideas and collaborate effectively across teams to drive research excellence and project success in a fast-paced environment
