As a Research Associate on the Histology team, you will be the foundation of platform development by maintaining and sectioning FFPE tissue blocks; support development of our proprietary tissue mounting system; use your background knowledge in histology and molecular diagnostics to identify controls, workflows, and enhancements to improve assay robustness and reliability; aid in expanding our assays to new tissue types, and provide guidance and expert advice to assay developers for interpreting results and expectations, and be the voice of histology when working with customers and collaborators. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in FFPE tissue sectioning and assessment using traditional histochemical staining such as H&E, familiarity in molecular assays on preserved tissue (e.g., IHC, IF, ISH/FISH) using a variety of microscopy readouts (brightfield, fluorescence etc.), and be comfortable following established complex assay workflows. You will be working with a multidisciplinary team of scientists in the fields of surface chemistry, engineering, biochemistry, and bioinformatics. This role is ideally suited to a candidate who is self-motivated and excited by a startup environment where opportunity to rise to frequent and diverse challenges is commonly encountered.
