Since its inception in 1996, the Virginia Commonwealth University College of Engineering has brought innovative, real-world engineering education to Central Virginia. Comprised of five different departments plus the Dean’s office, the College of Engineering enrolls more than 2,100 undergraduate and nearly 550 graduate students in several degree programs supported by a workforce of just under 700 full time, part time, and student employees. The Department of Biomedical Engineering is seeking a Research Assistant to support growing programs and research initiatives. The research assistant will be responsible for: Supporting the user testing of assistive technology devices in the laboratory by individuals who are blind or visually impaired. Recruitment and logistics for user studies, and be the primary team member to run the user studies. The research assistant will also be involved in study design, IRB preparation, preparation of any materials for the study and data analysis. The position may require travel to the Washington DC area and/or the Hampton Roads area to do subject testing. This is a position for a full time research assistant for up to 4 years.
